Natural & Documentary Approach
Since the Griffith Observatory is one of the Landmarks of Los Angeles very often during the working hours of the building there are a lot of tou avrists and other visitors.
My recommendations for having a photo engagement photography session is on Monday when the Observatory is closed and when it is less crowded. Unfortunately the area where the rooftop is closed during that period so would not be available to have extra shoots at the top of the building.
